TeamPromote and the 30 Day Challenge

About 8 days ago I signed up to take on the 30 Day Challenge at DotComSecrets X, the training series that claims to make people successful at making money.

The instructor in the Challenge videos says that not many people get to Day 4, which tells me that lots give up really early, without following through. Well I have reached Day 8, and I can see results already.

They are just small steps, but they are steps in the right direction.

On Day 4 of the 30 Day Challenge one of the homework tasks is to prepare a video to put on YouTube, where your share the wonderful things that have happened so far.

I have not made that video, but figured that APSense, where I have done most of the Challenge tasks would be the place to celebrate progress so far.

So just what is there to celebrate?

I have prepared a Squeeze Page that includes an Auto Responder form that people complete to be added to the list that I created in the AR. That wasn’t too hard, since the videos show how, and I had already done that before for my own lists.

I have built traffic to that Squeeze page through a credits campaign at APSense and a TeamPromote campaign. The page has been seen at least 5000 times during the campaign, and clicked on many times, with more than 30 leads added to the list.

The process I followed is not exactly the same as outlined, but I figured that I would the features at APSense to attract traffic to build the list. You too could use the same process, or follow those in the Challenge exactly.

Is it a raised flat surface for something to happen on? Or that place at the railway station where you wait for the train, and it sits high above the tracks so that you don’t have to step up to the carriage door to get on board? Do you remember platform shoes, with the deep soles and high heels?

Now what about launch, the verb or the action?

But this is not just ANY platform, it is a Marketing Platform. Marketing, as in the adjective marketing, not the ~~verb~~. (this is turning into an English Grammar lesson isn’t it?)

OK, back to Marketing Platform.

Remember, it’s a Platform, so what does it have on it? Well in this case it’s the base for a range of promotional content for Products and Services provide by many different Advertisers. The advertisers are not working alone as they have teams of promoters who are sharing that promotional material with their contacts, and on their marketing venues. And they will reward all Promoters based on the results of their promotions.

Choosing A Topic: Stage 3

Selecting a Focus Topic.

Stage 2 of the process for selecting a topic for your nano Network (or blog) could have identified 3 of your favourite subjects.

We are now going to take those 3 favorites and narrow down to select a focus for your efforts.

It’s time to drag out the good old Venn Diagram from your Elementary School days. In the diagram you write the names of the subjects, one in each of the outer part of a circle. Topic Selector

In the centre of the diagram is an area where the circles overlap. That overlap is the possible focus of your nano Network.

Still not sure? Now it’s time to check if the potential topic is going to fly.

Let’s say that your favourites are Health, Gardening and Travel. Where can you go with that?

Now it’s time to get out and do some research. The 7 steps to achieve that are:

Talk to some people. Face to face is good, but you could try the forums and social media chatrooms.
Choose an expert from each for the 3 subjects. Where will you find them on the net?
Search the net for experts in these fields. Get some names. Visit their sites. Comment on their blogs.
Plan to chat with 2 or 3 experts in each subject.
Decide on who to speak with first. Choose one who has authority and has a reputation for being open and helpful.
Chat with 2 or 3 in each field. Ask them if they can see how to combine your interests.
If these experts can’t help, ask them for a referral to somebody who might. Keep going until you have your answer, or it is obvious that the process is going nowhere. In that case either cut out one of the favourites, and see if that helps.

Once you have a potential focus, the next step is to check if it is already being covered. If it is, can you do it better, or take a slightly different approach?

Choosing A Topic: Stage 2

Selecting A Topic For a nano Network

An earlier post in the members’ area of this site set out 10 quick tips for finding a topic for your own nano Network. Choosing a niche

Those tips will be useful IF you know yourself really well. If, on the other hand you are not sure that the 10 quick tips will definitely identify the best niche for nano the following process will help.

This process can be done over a weekend (or longer), and will provide a list of fields that you know anything about, not just your favourites. One of those less favoured topics or fileds could just be the one!

The following chart should be reproduced and each column filled in.

The 3 points to remember when filling in the chart are:

Record in all columns as they are all worth thinking about.
You do not need to have mastery of the subject. Just that you can talk about it and that you know something of the subject.
It doesn’t matter how you picked up the knowledge.

doesn’t really matter which column. The column names are just there as
pegs to hang your memories on.

Learned at home: Reading, TV, Study courses

Column 5:

Learned in my leisure time, volunteer work, hobbies.

Once you have filled in the chart with the subjects that you know something about the next step is to pick from that list your favourites.

This important step should not be skipped if you are to find the focus for your nano.

The quickest way is to pick your favourites from the list just by using your instinct or intuition. If you can do that to choose your favourite, or 3 favourites, great.
